Privacy & your data

UK GDPR and PECR. Plain English, no dark patterns.

What we store about you

Only what an email alert actually needs:

  • Your email address.
  • Which plushes you asked us to watch, and any target price you set.
  • When you consented, which page you consented on, your browser’s user-agent string, and a one-way hash of your IP address. We keep the hash so we can evidence that consent was given; we cannot turn it back into your IP.

No accounts, no passwords, no tracking pixels in our emails, nothing that identifies you personally.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics to see which pages people find useful, how many visits a page gets, roughly where in the world they came from, which links get clicked. It sets a cookie, so we ask before loading it.

If you decline, Google’s script is never fetched at all. Not loaded and ignored, not deferred: your browser makes no request to Google on our behalf, and no analytics cookie is set. The site works identically either way, and we never send Google your email address or anything about which plushes you watch.

Advertising

The site carries a single banner advert. That is how it pays for itself, and like the analytics above it sets a cookie. Those two are the only things here that do.

So we ask first, and one answer covers both. If you have not been asked, nothing that sets a cookie is configured yet, in which case this site sets no cookies whatsoever. When something is running you get a plain choice, and declining is one click, exactly like accepting. Decline and the advertiser’s code is never loaded at all: not hidden, not deferred, never fetched.

Nothing else on the site depends on that answer. Price tracking, alerts, the resale data and every page work identically either way. Your choice is remembered in your browser’s local storage rather than in a cookie, so it never travels to us with your requests. Clearing your browser data resets it and we will ask again.

Separately, some links to shops are affiliate links, which means the retailer may pay us a commission if you buy. That never changes the prices you see or the order things are ranked in. The cheapest price is the cheapest price whether or not we earn from it. Listings from community groups are never affiliate-linked at all.

Double opt-in, always

When you ask for an alert we send exactly one email: a confirmation. Nothing else is sent until you click the link in it. If you never click, we delete the record entirely after 14 days: address, alert, consent metadata, all of it.

Leaving

Every email has a one-click unsubscribe link in the footer and in its headers, so your mail client can unsubscribe you without you opening anything. Using it switches off every alert immediately and adds your address to a suppression list, so a later signup cannot silently restart mail without a fresh confirmation.

You can also manage or delete individual alerts at any time using the personal link in your emails.

Who else sees it

Nobody. Every email we send (the confirmation, restock and price-drop alerts, and the optional daily round-up) goes out from our own mail server. Your address is not passed to a third-party email provider, not added to any marketing list, and never sold, rented or shared with retailers.

You get the emails you asked for and nothing else. Restock and price-drop alerts go only to people who set a watch; the daily round-up goes only to people who ticked that box separately. Neither one signs you up for the other, and unsubscribing stops all of it.

Resale listings and other people’s data

The resale tracker records prices from public marketplace listings and, where a human operator has captured them by hand, from collector groups. For those we store the item, the price, the condition, the date and, at most, a seller’s public display name. We do not store profile links, locations, contact details, or anything else about a seller, and we do not link back into private groups.

Your rights

You can ask us for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to erase it. Email george@jellydeals.uk and we will action it within 30 days. If you are unhappy with how we handle it, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.

Money

Some retailer links are affiliate links. If you buy through one we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. This never affects the prices we show or the order shops are ranked in. We also carry one banner advert per page, always labelled as advertising. Community resale listings are never affiliate-linked.

We do not run a cashback or reward scheme, and we never pay anyone to click a link.

Jelly Deals is an independent price tracker and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by Jellycat or any retailer listed. Product names and images belong to their owners.

Can we count your visit?

We use Google Analytics to see which pages people find useful. It sets a cookie. Everything else here, price tracking, alerts, resale data, works exactly the same either way. What we collect
